Bad Tourny Play - Good Cash Play - Just could of been more...

Hi All,
Well I played in the tourny last night, which was a bit annoying, ended up being a 18 runner sit and go with a 7,500 stack and 30 minute clock... A good standard of poker but to start with alot of stealing going on... Anyway I went out in 11th after hitting a set on the flop to someone cracking me on the river all in after he thought his pocket J's were good which with a 8 high board on the flop is a fair point...
Anyway so to last nights cash antics, I sat down with £100 and £100 behind... Was very card dead to start with getting nothing, and hitting nothing on my big blind... espcially with someone trying to nick my blind every time, after the rest of the table playing with me the last night knowing its not the best thing to do...
After about a hour... I have lost about £30 in paying blinds and seeing flops with J, 10 suited and stuff and having people pot and re pot leaving me with a gutshot and stuff after the flop and not having the odds or value to call.
I pick up A, A on the button, and Ill be honestly I have been attacking 2 certain players blinds all night... so no one really knew what I was playing last night... I pot it to make it £10 and get two callers... Making the pot £36 after the limpers laying down etc... Flop Comes down A, 5, 2... First to act puts in £15 (A,K)... 2nd person re raises another £30 (2, 2)... I re raise to £45 as im wondering if someone has a straight draw (Thoughts on this play? Wierd raise amount tho)... First to act then throws in his chips, another £4 on top all in and we go to the turn 3 handed... Pot at £196... Turn comes 5... (im now so far in front... linford christie wouldnt catch me in his hayday...) I check... He announces all in for £67 quid... I call and take down a nice £328
Best hand of the night was tho... Im BB, Somone Straddles for £4 (Pot 7) someone supper staddles for £8 (Pot £15) someone mega straddles for £16 (Pot £31) and someone mega mega straddles for £32 making the pot £63... I have decided im going to double the pot in the dark... Small blind folds... and I make it £63 to play and the pot £126, Yes I know its stupid but thought it was a laugh... in the dark... folds to mega staddle who calls and makes up his bit and so does mega mega straddle...
I look down and im running with K, K... Happy days... Pot is now sitting at £202 with out seeing a flop and I have £300 behind... Flop comes down 8 high rainbow... I put myself in front and check... someone then raises it by £50... and the other bloke calls... £50... pot is £300... I raise another £50 on top... raise is called by both players and pot is now at £600... With £200 behind... I hit a set on 4th street... and push all in... one bloke calls for the value of having £63 left and the other bloke lays down saying my A, Q is not good and hoping to turn a an A...
Pot is £726 take it take it down within him showing J, J.... River doesnt do anything and I take the pot down... Very happy two nights on the trout...
ANYWAY... This is when it got serious and I was lucky the bloke didnt have more behind as I was going to be screwed...
A, 3 Suited is on me I flat call and it goes to a flop which comes and I flop a wheel with 2, 4, 5... and pot it... then gets re potted and i smooth call and yes he is big blind and checks it out with 3, 6 and at the monet, Unless a 6 hits the deck im so far behind and dont know it, unless I hit runner runner flush... Anyway he raises it again I call again.... Turn comes a 7... I put my self in front... he raises it i re raise him and he announces all in... I have to call and lose £400 in one pot but im still happy walking out £126 quid up with £326 in my wallet...
At this point, I bid farewell and off I go... Very dissapointed, but I seriously thought I was 3 years in front...so who knows hey... A, 3 suited in cash, definatly a pre flop raise from now on lol...
So then, Im now £798 up, for 2008, after taking my sit downs out... So im happy not a bad start to the year, just a tad dissapoint with my tourny play...
Any thoughts let me know

2008 - Online Details

Well,

So far 2008 is going OK, I have played 4 - 18 seater sit n go's on Full tilt, cracked out first in the rest, but have come 2nd in two and won one, so im currently $132 up for 2008, in my online bank role, I have now decided to keep track of my profit and loss and will keep it up to date on here.

Im now using a poker bankroll system, never using any more than 10% of my stack and I hope not to deposit for a long time. Im planning on playing some big MTT's online, to get involved in the Blonde Poker - MTT 2008 challenge (a site i would suggest all poker nuts get on)

My plan for this week... Tonight... (Wednesday 9th January 2008) Im going to play a £50 freezeout in Southend on Sea, Rendevouz casino, self dealt, which is a nightmare but im sure it will be fine, has a good structure etc so im going to play live abit this week as I have boosted my bank role, and yes im sure I will end up playing cash again... If only it was Omaha...

This weekends plans are too play some sit and go's online and 2 MTT's and try and final table in one... Yes I know poker targets become a nightmare, but im sure I will be fine...

Cheers for reading guys

Late Night Cash - 4am Finish - Work at 9am - £800 cash

Hi All,

Went down the rendevouz last night as a mate was final tabaling in the £10 re buy night, His first ever live tourny, which was good...

At the final table, I asked if anyone wanted to play some cash, walked off as got no interest but someone come get me saying were doing a £50 sit down and £50 behind, texas holdem etc... So thought yeah why not...

First 3 hands pass by and im very quite... Meet a few nice blokes, Martin (Good Laugh, Great Fish and Enjoyed playing with you)... Dave (Very impressed when you got involved in pots and i was a bit scared as you was a rock and hitting that 9 on the river to have Kings full of 9's over Kings full of 7's was harsh, but a big pot to take down)

Had some monster rounds going on, with a straddle, super stadle and mega stradle too, making someone lay down pocket 6's and then me folding a 50 quid pot value of 300 quid and would of rivered the straight to take it down...

Anyway 4th hand...

I have pocket kings, pot it, and flat called by Martin (Mr Fish - Playing A, J) Flop Comes... J, 9, 4... 2 clubs... I pot and he calls... 7.... I pot again... He calls... River... 8 (clubs).... Ive potted it, stood up worried about a flush... But his put me all in and have to call for the £20 extra and double up...

Anyway the night was good, Someone let me hit a full house with J, 10 on the turn after he hit his set... All in with that... double up again...

See A' A and get called with someone hittin with K, 8 and me putting all in...

stole a few pots later for a while after going card dead...

Anyway... Big blind... I check... With 8, 5... Flop comes... 8, J, 7... Pot, I call thinking im in front... 5 hits 2 pair.... Again he is playing A, J... Im ahead... He said i wanna get off... I either double here or go... Knew what he has and called and end up £800 quid up by the end of the night...

Excellent night for a £100 sit down...

Now buys me into the freezeout tonight... Come at a good time of year to boost my live bank role too...

Dave, I dont know if you come on here even though i told you about it... Would be cool to see your thoughts on £300/£400 pots playing £1/£2 pot limit... and some mad play

Welcome - Jack K - My Poker Blog

Welcome,

Well after reading alot of poker blog's lately (Amatay, TiKay, Annette 15 and others) I thought I would start my own (Not that I think I will get many readers), about a low stakes cash (Mainly Omaha High) and sit n go player (NL Holdem, Omaha Hi and Horse), keep track of my deposits, a profit and loss chart and ofcourse the storys of my live play at the 2 local casino's.

To start with in the past I have done some work with PKR, bet then decided against what I was doing as PKR became very boring. I play small stakes cash games on Sky Poker, inlcuding Free Roles to help develop my bank role, and recently cashed in there 2 big festive free roles. I mainly play on Full Tilt Poker, I like to be able to take advice from pro players (I very much enjoy watching Gus Hansen and Joe Beevers playing high stakes Omaha Hi and being able to chat with them and of course the many other Full Tilt Poker Sponsored pro's)

About me, My name is Jack, Im 19 years old and I live in Southend on Sea, Essex, UK. I started of buy playing Free Roles and play money games on Party Poker, in 2004, learning the game, working out how to work out %'s and Out's and Odds etc.

At the age of 15, I had a tiny bank role, when I cashed in a massive 16$ in a free role and used that in Sit n Go's ($1) whilst I learnt the difference between competitive games and free play and to develop my own style of play.

Me, I see myself as a very aggressive player, who likes to open the pots, playing either cash or sit and go's.

I play cash games, Omaha Hi Pot Limit, $0.25/$0.50 blinds on full tilt and play sit and go's of $1, $2, and $5 on Full Tilt, and try to play for 3 hours a day midweek and maybe more at the weekend. I also enjoy playing 60 and 100 GBP deepstack freezeouts in Spielers and Rendevous Card Rooms, Southend.
